friday questions

how long before you began a 4th step?

do you believe sobriety really changes
people?

have you learned the practice of
meditation?

do you prefer the company of folks in
recovery, or a mix of sober and social
drinkers?

how long, if at all, did it take to
experience a spiritual awakening?

do you agree or disagree that there
comes a "got it" stage in recovery?

is there anything you miss about
your drinking days?

why do think long term recovery
is so elusive for many?

is happiness a result of sobriety,
or a choice?

how long before you began a 4th step? I began my fourth step about 3 months in and did my fifth @ 8 months. It worked, I got sober...but I didn't feel comfortable sponsering so I am doing it again so that I can carry the message.

do you believe sobriety really changes people? staying dry does not change people..getting sober through AA does.

have you learned the practice of
meditation? Yes...centering prayer is my preferred practice.

do you prefer the company of folks inrecovery, or a mix of sober and social drinkers? I seem to be comfortable wherever I am. I don't like being anywhere if drinking is the primary purpose.

how long, if at all, did it take to
experience a spiritual awakening? It's been a gradual experience from Day 1.

do you agree or disagree that there
comes a "got it" stage in recovery? I think there is more than one. Sometimes you can literally hear the click.

is there anything you miss about
your drinking days? NO...but I can romance a drink as well as the next guy.

why do think long term recovery
is so elusive for many? the capacity for being honest is a tough one.

is happiness a result of sobriety,
or a choice. It is both.
