Whitney Houston Reportedly 'Flat Broke'
Although she is about to appear in the movie remake of "Sparkle," singer and actress Whitney Houston is apparently having financial problems, according to media reports. Friends say Houston, who signed a $100 million record deal in 2000 but continued to struggle with addiction, is flat broke and has called friends to borrow as little as $100.

Pat Sajak Admits Boozing Before 'Wheel' Tapings
"Wheel of Fortune" star Pat Sajak admitted in an interview with ESPN2 that he a Vanna White used to take their breaks between tapings to booze it up at a nearby restaurant. Sajak said the pair would sometimes have "two or three or six" margaritas.

Son of Oral Roberts Arrested on DUI Charge
Richard Roberts, son of the late Oral Roberts, has been arrested for driving under the influence. The 63-year-old was stopped by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol going 93 mph in his Mercedes-Benz and failed a field sobriety test.

Lenny Dykstra Sentencing Delayed for Rehab
A judge has delayed sentencing for baseball great Lenny Dykstra on multiple grand theft auto charges to allow him to complete drug and alcohol treatment. "He is enrolled in a drug and alcohol program and progressing well," said L.A. County Superior Court Judge Cynthia Ulfig.

Sam Hurd to Fight Drug Distribution Charges
Former NFL player Sam Hurd has fired his former attorneys, hired new ones and has decided to fight drug distribution charges. Hurd is accused of trying to buy large quantities of drugs from a undercover agent to establish a drug-dealing network.

Detroit Lions' Culbreath Arrested on Drug Charges
Johnny C. Culbreath, offensive tackle for the Detroit Lions, has been arrested on a drug-related charge at a hotel in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The 23-year-old was busted for simple possession of marijuana and paid a fine of $412.

Here are some highlights from the 2011 Monitoring the Future survey:

Cigarette use among 12th graders has dropped by almost half since 1997, with only 18.7% admitting to smoking.

Among 12th graders, 63.5% drank alcohol in the past year, down from 74.8% in 1997.

Binge drinking has declined among all three age groups.

Marijuana use rates however are up among all age groups including 36.5% for 12th graders.

Also, 11.4% of 12th graders reported past year use of so-called synthetic marijuana like "K2" and "Spice."

Use of OxyContin remained steady for all three age groups.

The non-medical use of ADHD medications Adderall and Ritalin also remained about the same.

A significant decline was seen across all age groups in the use of over-the-counter cough medicine.

The episode set off speculation that she may be entering rehab, but her spokesman said she would get follow-up care through her personal physicians.

Grammy winner Bruno Mars has had his felony cocaine possession case dropped by a Las Vegas judge after completing conditions of his plea deal last year. Mars, whose real name is Peter Gene Hernandez, was arrested with 2.6 grams of cocaine in a nightclub bathroom in September 2011.

Kasey Kahl Arrested for Drunk & Disorderly Conduct
Reality TV start Kasey Kahl vamped for his mug shot after he was arrested at a Fresno nightclub on drunk and disorderly conduct charges. A spokesman for the former "Bachelorette" star said Kahl was a bit confused about why he was arrested.

Actress Heather Locklear was taken from her home to the hospital after her sister called 9-1-1. Law enforcement sources told reporters that the 50-year-old Locklear apparently mixed alcohol with prescription drugs.

Lindsay Lohan Owes $94,000 in Back Taxes
Actress Lindsay Lohan is still having problems in her life. The Internal Revenue Service placed a Federal Tax Lien on her Encino home for the back taxes she owes for the 2009 tax year. The IRS claims Lohan owes $93,701.57 in income taxes.

Griffin O'Neal Arrested for Domestic Violence
The son of actor Ryan O'Neal started off the New Year in the San Diego Central Jail. Griffin O'Neal was arrested on domestic violence charges after police received a 9-1-1 call saying that someone at the residence had been drinking too much.

A Massachusetts woman is facing multiple drug charges after police caught her selling crack cocaine out of her car with two young children in the back seat. Shani Byfield, 26, was arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, cocaine distribution and conspiracy to violate a drug law.

Child's Trip To Hospital Leads Deputies To Meth Lab
A Tennessee woman who took her 7-year-old child to the emergency room for respiratory problems ended up arrested. Medical personnel determined the child's breathing problems were the result of inhaling fumes from a methamphetamine manufacturing operation and contacted the police.

Heart Researcher Falsified Red Wine Study
A well known University of Connecticut researcher who has published several studies on the cardiovascular benefits of drinking red wine is now being investigated for falsifying his research data. UConn officials said their internal review found 145 instances over seven years in which Dr. Dipak Das fabricated, falsified and manipulated data.

Zahra Baker's Stepmom Pleads Guilty to Drug Charge
A North Carolina woman who was sentenced to 18 years for the death and dismemberment of her stepdaughter, 10-year-old Zahra Baker, has entered a guilty plea to federal charges of conspiracy to sell drugs. Elisa Baker admitting distributing more than 50,000 prescription drug pills between 2006 and 2010. She faces up to 20 years for the drug charge.

Doctor Arrested in Painkiller Overdoses
A California doctor linked to a dozen drug-related overdose deaths has been arrested by the DEA on federal drug trafficking charges. Dr. Julio Diaz, 63, has been the subject of a federal investigation for several years, authorities said.

'Synthetic' Weed Is Problem for US Military
U.S. Military officials have become alarmed over the increased use of herbal products known as fake marijuana such as "Spice." More than 1,100 suspected users have been investigated in the past 12 months and a new aggressive testing program has been launched in the armed forces.
