feeling flat

feeling a bit flat
there is no reason why

could it be a seasonal thing
or just memories of days gone by.

a stage of life for which
i'm somewhat unprepared

concern for my son and the
health of an aging dad

grateful for times and laughs
we've had

yet unable to escape feeling sad

looking back at so much my
affliction has caused me to miss

it can't be changed or erased
in any way

just amended by my actions,
living honestly & available
day by day
