alternative to aa.

there are several;

S.M.A.R.T.
Secular Organizations for Sobriety
St Gregory Retreat

actually the most common method
of recovery from drinking and or
drugging is "maturing out".

many people decide they've had
enough, and quit on their own.

how successful is maturing out?
every bit as much and possibly more
than long term aa rates.

both hover around 5%
