Wire Actress Pearson Pleads Guilty in Drug Case
Caught on a telephone wiretap, actress Felicia "Snoop" Pearson has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute heroin the day before her trial was scheduled to begin. She was sentenced to time served and three years probation. Pearson, 31, played a drug gang assassin on HBO's The Wire. The plea deal allows her to continue her acting career, her attorney said.
Rapper Big Boi Arrested on Drug Charges
Grammy award winning OutKast rapper Big Boi, whose real name is Antwan Patton, has been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Miami-Dade police said the rapper was arrested for possession of ecstasy and Viagra.
Rapper "Kid" Reid Arrested for Skipping Court
Former Kid 'n Play rapper Christopher "Kid" Reid was arrested at his Los Angeles home after he failed to appear at a court hearing regarding his 2010 drunk driving conviction. He was supposed to show up in court July 25 at a hearing to show proof that he had completed all of his probation requirements.
Vikings Quarterback Rhett Bomar Arrested
Minnesota Viking quarterback Rhett Bomar has been arrested for drunk-driving by police in Mankato. Bomar was stopped following a Saturday night Vikings practice and was held in jail until Sunday evening.
Economy Forces Cutbacks in War on Meth
The economy is taking a toll on the war on meth in some cities. According to The Associated Press, law enforcement officials in states where most of the nation's methamphetamine is produced have drastically reduced their efforts to pursue the manufacturers simply because they cannot afford the cost of cleaning up the toxic waste created by the labs.
