hey, happy new year :)
i just wanted to say i am on effexor (weaned off of paxil after about 7 years and it was starting to be ineffective...didn't want to increase my dose. just be careful if you have to switch meds or come off of it altogether. the withdrawals are BRUTAL. trust me on that)
Thanks for the info, I am also planning to switch or stop SSRI's altogether.
Did you gradually reduce dosage or just stop?
I'm considering Wellbutrin,
for less side effects.
i weaned off, but too quickly and had to go an entire day before i could begin my effexor (which i don't know if i am on the correct dosage or not. i still get blue.)
the withdrawals were terrible - zaps and internal twitches (you'd have to read the very beginning of my blog to catch up because it started out as my withdrawing from paxil blog and morphed into my i'm an alcoholic blog :)
he tapered me down for two weeks - two months may have been more reasonable, i was jumping out of my skin. consult your phys, seriously, before you do so - and by all means, don't just *stop*. it's brutal.
