Spirituality vs. Religion

The saying goes, "religion is for those afraid of hell;
spirituality is for those who have been there".

It amazes me how religious zealots will fight
and even kill to defend their beliefs.
How ironic, all that hate in the name of God.

What I appreciate about AA, is the practice of
choosing my own concept of a higher power.
No one tells me how or when to pray, or insists
that I subscribe to any religion
